Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information CodeTerritory handles when you use our website, accounts, articles, and developer tools.
Last updated: October 7, 2026
Who we are
CodeTerritory publishes practical web development articles and provides account features and browser-based developer tools. For questions about this policy or a privacy request, email business@codeterritory.com.
Information we collect
Depending on how you use CodeTerritory, we may handle:
- Account details: name, email address, and a password stored as a password hash when you create an account.
- Content you submit: comments, contact-form messages (including your name, email, topic, and message), and newsletter email subscriptions.
- Account preferences and activity: saved article identifiers, reading progress, and your chosen display theme.
- Browser-stored data: theme and reading-progress preferences, code-editor content, and mini-project data may be stored in your browser using local storage.
- Technical request data: when your browser requests a page, our hosting environment may receive standard technical information such as your IP address, browser, and requested URL.
How we use information
We use information to:
- operate accounts, sign-in, comments, and saved-article features;
- remember preferences and synchronize account features;
- respond to contact messages and send requested newsletter updates;
- maintain, secure, and improve the website and its tools; and
- meet applicable legal obligations and handle service issues.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use submitted passwords in plain text; account passwords are stored as password hashes.
Cookies and local storage
CodeTerritory uses a session cookie to support features such as signing in and protecting account actions. The site also uses browser local storage for preferences and tool data described above. You can clear or restrict cookies and local storage through your browser settings; doing so may prevent some site features from working correctly.
Service providers and third parties
We rely on website hosting and database services to operate CodeTerritory. Pages may also request resources from third parties, such as Google Fonts and the code-editor library CDN. Those providers may receive technical information from your browser when a resource is requested. Their handling of that information is governed by their own privacy terms.
If we enable Google AdSense or another advertising service, that provider may use cookies or similar technologies and process information such as your IP address and the page URL to deliver, measure, and protect advertising, and where permitted, personalize ads. Learn how Google uses information on partner sites in Google's partner-site privacy information. We will update this policy when advertising or other material third-party services are introduced.
If personalized Google ads are served to people in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, Google requires publishers to use a Google-certified consent management platform integrated with the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework. We will configure the applicable consent process before serving such ads.
Retention and your choices
We keep submitted information for as long as it is needed to provide the feature or respond to your request, subject to operational and legal needs. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of information associated with your account or contact us to unsubscribe from the newsletter by emailing business@codeterritory.com. You can remove browser local-storage data through your browser settings. We may need to verify your request before acting on it.
Security and changes
We use reasonable measures intended to protect information, but no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. We may revise this policy as the site changes. The date at the top of this page indicates when it was most recently updated.
